My 1st Orb (by giftedserenitybox)
Finally got my first orb nailed this morning. Just wish I didn’t walk around in the river below to only end up not shooting in the tunnel under the bridge.

Done for the night and this is all I came up with. Netflix is way to distracting, goodnight folks!
Portobello Seascape (by giftedserenitybox)
A lush sunny day in Edinburgh today, and hit Portobello beach for a couple hours to do some time lapse stuff, which didn’t work so well. So here’s a little something instead, sorry for the lack of interestingness.
Just got a new filter in the post the other day. Haven’t had a chance to try it out properly yet, but this is what I got a chance to try it out on so far. The filter is a 77mm Hoya NDx400, which means it stops down a further 9 stops. So here’s an example shot that should have been between 125th and 250th of a second. Whipped the filter on and got it to 20 seconds. Lovely stuff!

One of my final shots of the day for the Great North Run 2011, in terms of the slow shutter speed. What a great day, and totally inspired to run it next year, 73% sure at this point. We’ll see after the Newcastle Stampede, which is a six mile obstacle course held in November.

Always had it in my head to do this shot. Hard to set up a tripod and block the space next to the camera so no one gets into view that’s right next to me. A cable release came in really handy for that.
There were so many vibrations from the runners and a Bupa banner tapping off the tripod legs that it caused some unfortunate camera shake and lack of sharpness around the bridge and another stationary objects in the shot.
Shutter Speed: 4 secs
Aperture: f22
